We wanted to give a shout-out to Dr Alice McGushin, who was recently selected to represent Australia at the 2026 Asia Pacific Trail Running Championships, held from 25–27 November in Wuyishan, China.
We first met Alice in Queenstown on the west coast of Tasmania during Diverge Skyruns. Alice had just run the majority of the 50km Mt Lyell Skyrun with a broken toe and still managed 3rd place. Alice is an accomplished runner with an impressive resume of podiums in Europe and Australia. Alice is also a medical doctor specialising in public health with a particular focus on climate change. Alice is now based in Canberra, and her career has taken her throughout the world so it was pretty cool to see her back racing in the town she was born and grew up in.
We had a good chat after the event, and Moor now fuels all of Alice's training and races, including the upcoming Asia Pacific Trail Running Championships.
